February 27, 2019 - Georgia Secretary of State Raffensperger is circulating a cost analysis of hand-marked paper ballots that is profoundly misleading and wildly inflates the costs of conducting elections with hand-marked paper ballots as compared with the cost of electronic ballot marking devices to mark all ballots. The analysis the Secretary provided is deeply flawed on many levels, but in the interest of brevity we will focus on the two most egregiously misleading and disingenuous aspects of this estimate.

2019 WORLDWIDE THREAT ASSESSMENT OF THE U.S. INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY
The U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) issued its 2019 Worldwide Threat Assessment of the U.S. Intelligence Community on January 29, finding that U.S. “adversaries and strategic competitors probably already are looking to the 2020 U.S. elections as an opportunity to advance their interests.”
REPORT URGES NATIONWIDE E-BALLOT QUARANTINE
The report, “Email and Internet Voting: The Overlooked Threat to Election Security,” examines the threats faced by various forms of online voting, emphasizes that online voting must be discontinued completely by 2020, and recommends short-term best practices for voters and elections officials in the 2018 election.
